The model wich was made during the workshop consist out of a triangular beam put in a closed box. The model contains three layers. You as viewer are supposed to look inside the triangle which is the first layer. The walls on the inside of the triangle contains my skills (each has one side). These are technical drwawing , designing and advisory skills. So my ambition and skills are put in first place. In the inside of the beam there are hatches. These are connections between architectural skills and fascinations and hobby `s.
From here there are hatches wich connect my
Hobby`s with personal info. In general the model explains that you are confronted with work but
whenever interested you can discover more about me.

USER STORY
The portfolio I want to have should explains my character, common interests, expertise and ambition. For who am I making a portfolio. For future employers and the rest of the world who shares my interests. In the following section I will explain how these people might look at my portfolio, what they want to know, and how they can become your future client.

User profile: the future employer
What does my future employer wants to know?
The type of design projects I have done before. The projects should be presented in a way that is explains my current capability in conceptual, architectural, and technical thinking. The methods and techniques I use for visualization and drawings are very important.
How can I present it and how does he look at it?
First of all the portfolio will be a hardcopy. The type of designs should be organized in order of themes. Each project is explained by using the following steps : visualization, diagrams of concept, plans and sections and detailing. The way of presenting is the most important one. It explains your personality. In my way it will be a simple layout with not too much pictures incl. Crowded pages are confusing and missing the point. The graphics used explains my way of working. If I place myself in the position of the employer I would like to know on what level I participated on each project. Did I do it on my own or in a team, and if so what was my part in it .

User profile: the client
People who want to hire me, might know not much about architecture. So the portfolio emphasizes on the visual part. The visualization of previous projects are in this case important. It is very important to know for a client what my skills are, when it comes to executing a project.
How can I present it and how does they look at it?
It is about search and be searched. Some people come to you because they were advised by people I know. For those type of client a hardcopy in an original way should do the trick(postcard with your project or a small booklet). Nowadays the most important way to get a client when you`re small in business is the internet. Nice (updated)pictures in order of themes gives a good view of my design skills. Very important for small assignments is the fact that people start looking for an architect in Google. Using the correct keywords are very important when you want to be searched.

Attracting users by my common interests.
Most of the architects have a website which only contains professional based information. It`s a one way interaction. You need specific information if you want to visit their site. I would like a website which contains divers subjects not directly related to architecture. But architecture should have the upper hand in the site because it`s my profession. Well formulated keywords describing my interests can give many hits on Google, so in the end people end up looking on my architecture portfolio without purpose. Adding a help me section where people can ask questions is a way to get trusted by people( networking). By exposing the real me on the net even a future boss can see what my other qualities are.

PORTFOLIO ANALASYS

Site of van Gogh museum

The primary target of this site is to invite you to visit the museum (wich is a portfolio itself) . That`s why they don`t give you too much pic`s about the collection. The character is to inviteyou. The secondary aim of this site is to give a portfolio about a portfolio. You are able to collect secondary information here about the present art collection ,research , and the museum .This site addresses a big target group ; people who want to come and people who just want information about van Gogh and art .The content in general is very clear, especially the search machine helps a lot to collect information.

Very synoptic site. No direct flaws

Viking direct office - supplies catalogue

The goal of this company is clear: it just wants to sell.

It`s meant for a specific target group ( companies and institutions) because prices are tax excl.

The content is based on emphasizing the current lowered prize of the product in relation to the old prize ``all bargains``. From the first page you will not know what you are going to get (no index). So maybe the company wants you to look through the whole booklet, to find what you need and maybe more

Fig 2 paper catalog

Viking direct office -website

The company `s homepage makes a separation between companies and individuals (fig 3). The approach of selling is nevertheless the same except for tax incl or excl prices . The aim of presenting their portfolio is by underling the products they really want to sell by dynamic pictures. This is a big difference between the website and the paper catalog.

The portfolio on the website is clear but because of the use of (too) many colors, there is no hier archy in the interface

Website `office for metropolitan architecture`

The homepage is very simple and no nonsense . The target group is very broad and certainly not only for people within the field. OMA is well known and has done a lot of projects ,they don`t have to `present` themselves on a website for future customers . The site has a lot to tell but it`s up to you to decide what you want to know . The content is very structured (like a tree diagram). The character is purely to inform (especially by using a simple letter type) and feels like a strict

catalogue of projects and information of the office itself

You know exactly what you`re going to

get when you push a button on the homepage. This is a quality in my opinion when It comes to searching for projects or information.

On the other hand it’s not attractive to stay and watch. You should have a reason to visit
